¤ Journey to South Africa |
South Africa 's wonderful landscapes, welcoming people and sunny skies are just becoming known to people around the world. Western tourists are flocking here in increasing numbers. They are attracted to South Africa for its physical beauty and adventure. The southern regions of Africa remain unsurpassed in their capability to awe and surprise at every turn. To tour South Africa is to experience a vast collection of contrasts, from the comfortable hotel of Cape Town to rockery , from wildlife in the game parks to the hustle of city life in the shade of lofty skyscrapers. Africa, Europe and Asia all blend together in this linguist nation of 10 - 11 official languages. This is a great time to travel to South Africa because the local currency is lower to international currency dollars, euros & pond sterling. As a result, prices of food and lodging, as calculated in dollars, are very affordable. South Africa is a country blessed with an plenty of exceptional raw materials and a variety of cultures. Bobotie, the national dish of South Africa captures its corea spicy minced lamb dish with plenty of curry, bay leaves, nuts and dried fruits, covered with a baked custard.. Cape Town is truly blessed with easily accessible natural splendor such as the breathtaking drive along scenic Chapman's Peak or the amazing views from Cape Point where the mighty, cold Atlantic and the warm Indian Oceans converge. The city itself is very cosmopolitan, enhanced by an implausible variety of cooking traditions and excellent home made wines. |

¤ Tour Of Swaziland |
Swaziland is so living with culture yet so calm in a sweetly idle way. It has all the friendly people, picturesque villages, colorful crafts and all. Swazi Trails took over my on the road agenda and their cultural day-trip which unusually had a lady head. On her authority all the children pounded out a beat with jangling ankles and waving wands then danced and sang with perfect co-ordination and harmony. The Swazi's hold much esteem for the elderly mother and senior wife and it is the Queen Mother that rules the country jointly with the King. It is said he fathered more than 500 children during his 65 year reign. The royal Ezulwini Valley is where most monuments, museums, crafts and culture is to be found. It oozes tranquility and your relaxation can be further better under the calming hands of a masseuse at the seductive new bath. Around two kilometres south of Malolotja, on the Mbabane road, lies the Hawane Dam Nature Reserve, a small area around the northern end of the Hawane Dam, designed to protect part of the Black Umbuluzi River wetlands. Hawane's main attraction is its wealth of birdlife, and there's an excellent trail for bird-watching. In one sentence I can say, Africa is worth traveling. |

¤ Mount Kenya |
My Kenya 's visit focused primarily on to Mount Kenya . It is Africa 's second highest mountain, after Kilimanjaro. It is estimated to be 2.5 million years old. The mountain is an extinct volcano. Mount Kenya is an overwhelming sight that dominates the central Kenyan highlands. It is possibly logical that the people who live on its lower slopes thought it fit for gods' residence. Mount Kenya is located 180 km to the north of Nairobi . The mountain falls within Mount Kenya National Park . The park has the division of being concurrently a world heritage. There are 81 species of plants here that are found nowhere else in the world. In forest zone, there is abundance of wildlife including buffalo, elephant and bushbuck. The mountain attracts over approximately 30,000 visitors every year. Mount Kenya is in fact considered to be more technically challenging than the higher Kilimanjaro. Though Mount Kenya is practically on the equator, you will find snow and ice and even glaciers. You will enjoy dramatic views of waterfalls, valleys, tarns and rugged rock formations. You will generally need a guide and porters so that you can concentrate on the hike. Always go for those who have high altitude experience and are accredited by the park authorities. They will know the routes and the porters shoulder the heavy stuff while you carry a daypack. The main rainy season in the Mount Kenya region falls from late March to June. In two words you will not oblivion once you visit this
African apex. |

¤ Tour To The African Safari And Get Close With The Wild Life |
Looking for an exciting vacation tour? Look no farther than the savanna areas of Africa . Rich with views of the African animals in their natural habitat, you can see lions as they roam the African plains along side antelope, elephants, zebras, giraffes and more wildlife. Why settle to see these splendors from your living room TV. Your trip of a lifetimes waiting for you to take a grand tour and see these magnificent areas, unequalled anywhere else in the world. Be a guest of an experienced tour guide that puts your safety and the animal's safety first while you get close up to wild game from inside a 4-wheel drive safari vehicle. Even in the most remote parts of Africa have tour accommodations that are often quite modern and delightful. Lodgings often have an airy atmosphere due to the hot year-round climate, which most North Americans do not experience. Most lounging and dining areas are in the open air. Sitting on a lovely veranda during the afternoon while sipping a cool beverage and watching native African animals graze and wander nearby is a nice perk that is often available on an African tour. Some lodges also have accommodations so you can sleep at night under a dreamy white netting canopy. What's a safari without some adventure? If you're very adventuresome, consider a tenting safari. These classic and elegant tours are carefully orchestrated so the tourist can experience comfortable, safe and luxurious camp while co-existing along side the spirit of Africa . These camps often have permanent structures. The tent may have flooring that's wooden or concrete and include a private bathroom with shower. Many of the dining structures are also permanent structures. As for dining, breakfast and supper is formal while lunch is normal. The experienced camp staff is able to cater to tourists every need; therefore, as many Americans are led to believe, tent safaris are not that primitive. Another plus to an African safari tour is the daylight hours are at their maximum along the equator, going from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Many African countries, particularly Kenya and Tanzania , get a major source of their revenue from tourism. These regions host a number of reputable tour companies and partner with American tour companies to provide a quality experience. Tour guides commonly speak English, along with hotel staff and staff at major tour sites. A meet and greet by the tour guides at the airport starts off most tours. These same tour guides remain with the tour group throughout the tour until the group returns to the departure gate at the completion of the trip. Think seriously about seeing the wondrous African savanna. These tours aren't as expensive as you may think the 10-day tour on average costs around $3000 per person, not including airfare. Chances are good that once you've been there, you'll leave a bit of your heart behind in this wonderful place that is unlike any other in the world, as I did. |

¤ Kilimanjaro Of Tanzania |
This mountain is one of the Top peaks of the world; it has the highest point on the African continent. It rises gently from 3,000 feet, reaches for the universe and only stops after a 16,000 feet incline. The diameter at the base is an astonishing 64 kilometers. Kilimanjaro is positioned to the northeast of Tanzania , on the border with Kenya . Kilimanjaro is young as far as mountains go, and geologists allow it only approx 600,000 years. The mountain is made up of three latent volcanoes ;
» Kibo (19,340 feet)
» Shira (13,000 feet)
» Mawenzi (16,896 feet)
Going up the mountain, you move from tropical to artic conditions. There are five distinct climatic zones, with each zone taking approximately 3,300 feet. Kilimanjaro is the world's most reachable peak. To enjoy the usual beauty and magnificence of Kilimanjaro, you do not even have to climb it. Otherwise the climb normally takes five to six days and involves four to five overnight stay in relaxed mountain huts. But do not be too disappointed if you do not reach the peak. Different estimates indicate that only few percentage of climbers get to the top. Climbing Kilimanjaro is for those who are physically fit and mentally prepared. It is your ability to gather that additional amount of. You can climb Kilimanjaro, any time throughout the year. The best way to calm down after the hike is by taking a Tanzania safari in the unrivalled wildlife sanctuaries in the north of the country or by heading for the beaches of Zanzibar . I have also written short features on these attractions.
Kilimanjaro is 475 km to the northwest of Dar es Salaam. The base for climbing Kilimanjaro is the northern Tanzania. Kilimanjaro International Airport services the region. |

¤ Namibia for Tourists |
The country is designed almost specially for tourists. Everlasting deserts, bush savanna, ravaged coastlines, grand canyons, are the reward that awaits the explorer. On a Namibia safari the variety of activities you can cosset in the challenging physical environment is really striking. Namibia has four separate geographical regions. In the north is Etosha Pan, a great area for wildlife and heart of Etosha National Park . The Caprivi Strip is nested between Zambia and Botswana and is a wet area of woodland blessed with a few rivers. Along the coast is the Namibia Desert , which at the age of 80 million years old, is said to be the world's oldest desert. Namibia , one and half times the size of France , is very sparsely inhabited and carries only 1.8 million people.
Etosha National Park is what brings wildlife lovers to Namibia . The park is similar in size and variety of species with the greatest in Africa . There are 144 mammal species in the park and elephants are particularly plentiful. Some other interesting wildlife here includes giraffe, leopard, cheetah, jackal and black rhino. The birding is great and over 300 bird species have been recorded. You experience incredible views at various points along the border. Adventure lovers do not simply come for the views. Hiking through the canyon is the ultimate stamina adventure for hikers. You are permissible to hike between early May and end of September. The hike is quite arduous and pointless to say, you must be bodily fit. In Namibia you can enjoy up to 300 days of sunshine. Winter nights can be quite cold and frost occurs over large parts of the country. The rains inland fall in summer (November-April) and are heaviest in the Caprivi region. Rains do not much change travel. You can get by wearing light cottons and linens in summer. Over winter nights and mornings, you need heavier cottons and sweaters. Comfy walking shoes are essential, as the ground gets very hot. Some functional stuff to pack includes: camera, binoculars, sunglasses, sun hats, sunscreen and mosquito repellant. Enjoy African Namibia. |

¤ Africa Safari Tips |
1. A safari is not only about the huge pastime. Take pleasure from the environment and all the wildlife. There are a huge number of insects, birds and minor creatures that can be just as attractive if you take the time to look and find out more.
2. A duo of high-quality binoculars is totally vital on a safari so make sure you take your own with.
3. Be dressed in insect repugnant in the evenings to ward of those irritating mosquitoes and make sure you leave as slight skin exposed as possible by wearing long trousers. In the day they are a bunch fewer active so you don't have to agonize about them then.
4. Consider taking some of your own with on a "just in case" basis: Anti malarial pills, anti-diarrhea medicine, motion sickness pills if you suffer from this, mosquito repulsive and sunscreen.
5. Night drives on safari are a great opportunity to see the nocturnal animals that you will never see during the day but remember that the powerful spotlight which illuminates the surrounding bush and the glowing eyes also attracts a lot of insects so you might think twice before volunteering to hold it.
6. Its not rare for safari vehicles to shatter down because most of the roads are mud tracks and the cars take a throbbing every day. One should be carrying spares and the driver or guide should have some mechanical experience. |

¤ Camping Trip |
Looking for a fun and cheap vacation? Camping maybe the solution for you. Camping is a great way for the whole family to chip in and participate, even in the daily activities. The kids can go catch fish for dinner, or help set up a tent. Camping only costs about $400. If you need camping gear, then plan on spending at least $600 dollars more. Even still you can have a lot of fun for a family of 4 for under $1,000 dollars. Hiking, fishing, there is so much to do when camping. Some camping grounds even offer swimming and show movies at night. Another great camping perk is watching the sunset or start glazing. Since most camp grounds are away from city lights, the stars will be amazing. Before you go rushing off on your camping adventure, you need to know what to bring on a camping trip. You'll need shelter of some kind. Either a tent, and RV or a cabin. It is recommended that you use a tent. They are cheap and provide basic sheltering from bugs and the elements. Next you should bring a sleeping bag. Light weight or heavy depending on what time of the year and pads. Pads provide insulation and comfort from the hard ground. The last major camping item is food. Depending on what you're planning to eat, you can bring a variety of things. The most basic is a cooler and a bag of charcoal. Cooler for drinks and charcoal for a grill. You can make basic camping food such as steaks, ribs, hot dogs and hamburgers. If you plan on making dishes then you can bring a propane stove and a skillet. With it you can make a lot of stove-top meals. If you're really skilled at camp cooking, then you can bring a Dutch Oven for baking. Plan your camping trip months in advanced. Plan what you are going to buy, where you're going, and what your going to eat. Figure out everything you're going to need and write it down. There's nothing worse then getting to the camping ground and realize you forgot to pack a tent. Camping is an excellent vacation filled with all sorts of fun things to do. |

¤ World Flags |
Flags have a rich history and heritage. Flags trace their genesis to the use of staffs or vexilloids, that were commonly used to lead men into battle. These staffs were decorated with symbols and other items, giving the soldiers a feeling of camaraderie. With time, these staffs were adorned with silk and other types of material. This is what we see now as the modern day 'Flag'. Now every country has its own flag as an identity. These are used to stake claim over a new land or a symbol of presence - flag on the moon by Neil Armstrong. Flags have been used for centuries to signify different things. They can be used to signify civilizations, ideas, groups, and nations. Flags were not used to symbolize a nation until the eighteenth century. Today, every nation has their own flag, each rich with symbolism. This symbolism often only means something to the inhabitants of that nation. The stars and stripes, the national flag of the United states of America reached its current form in 1960 when Hawaii joined the USA. The flag was conceived in 1777 and since then has seen various transformations. The stripes symbolize the first 13 states that made up the USA and each state is represented by a star, thus showing 50 stars on the flag. This symbolizes the unity of all states. Great Britain's flag is also called the Union Jack. It has been the official flag since 1801. The flag symbolizes the three different countries that are united; England, Scotland, and Ireland. Today it only represents Northern Ireland, as the rest of Ireland became its own state in 1920. The Union Jack is a familiar symbol and is used on many other flags such as Australia. The flag of Canada is a red maple leaf flanked by stripes of red. This flag design was officially adopted in 1965, although the maple leaf was a Canadian symbol for many years before that. The two stripes are said to represent the Pacific and Atlantic oceans which flank the country. The flag of Barbados is an interesting one. It is represented by two stripes of blue on either side which represent the ocean and the sky, and the center which is yellow represents Barbados' beaches. The interesting part is the trident in the center, which represents Neptune. The trident is broken, which symbolizes Barbados' split from Britain in 1966 when the flag was made official. The Israeli flag has blue and white stripes. They are the same color used in Jewish prayer shawls. The Star of David takes up the center, another familiar Jewish religious symbol. Their flag became official in 1948. Flags all over the world express their values through symbolism and sometimes religion. Often they carry religious sayings or symbols that tell the world about their countries. As territories change hands throughout the world, or two nations become one, new flags are designed. Two of the most recent and recognizable are the flags representing the United Nations and the European Union. People love their national flags and are proud of what they express. The flag tells who the people are and what they value. Flags have proudly flown for thousands of years and will continue to fly throughout the world forever. |
